CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
TOMS Shoes began with the One for One business model in mind. For every pair of shoes the company sells, it gives away one pair to a child in need. When Mycoskie first had the idea, he considered starting a non-profit to help raise money to purchase shoes for the barefoot children in Argentina. After considering this, he realized that it may not last too long. It was then that he came up with the One for One business model. Mycoskie decided that this would be a more sustainable way to continue his social responsibility initiative. TOMS has been quite successful with this One for One model and has inspired many other companies to adopt this model. Millions of people have benefited from Mycoskie's idea and the TOMS company.
